Graduation

In order to graduate, a student must have a program GPA of 2.0 or higher, must satisfactorily complete all courses listed for graduation, must score a level three or higher on WORK READY assessments, and must have discharged all financial obligations to the College. The Application for Graduation may be printed from this link, or it may be obtained from the student’s program advisor. The application should be submitted to the registrar's office at the time a student registers for his/her final quarter of enrollment.

Formal graduation ceremonies are held during the Spring and Fall Quarters.  Graduates are encouraged to attend the ceremony; no fee is required to participate.  However there is a deadline for all information to be processed in order for students to participate.  All awards and transcripts will be mailed to graduates following the ceremony.  Students receiving embedded technical certificate of credit programs do not walk at graduation.

Honor Graduates

Degree and diploma graduates who have achieved a program grade point average of 3.65 or higher are recognized at graduation as honor graduates.  When completing a specialization, all required core and occupational courses are included in the program GPA calculation.

Residency Requirements For Graduation

Heart of Georgia Technical College requires that a minimum of fifty percent (50%) of the course work of a particular program of study be completed at Heart of Georgia Technical College.
