| MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: |
Some college or specialized training, but with an emphasis on competency gained through work experience. OPEESA certified or willingness to obtain certification by September 1, 2010. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. |
| PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: |
Proficiency in MS Office 2007 |
| MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES: |
Under close to general supervision, develop curriculum and course work for implementation of a new Lawn Equipment/Small Engine Repair program, teach small engine courses, and assist with the procurement of instructional equipment and materials. Participate in recruitment, student advisement, and job placement. Serve on committees as appropriate and other duties as appropriate to the position. Responsible for compliance with all college policies and safety policies to ensure a positive learning environment for student instruction. |
| TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: |
Part-time position, not to exceed 8 hours per week (no benefits) with some occasional non-standard work hours required. |

Commensurate with education and work experience |

Courses
LEQR 1000—Four-Cycle Engines
Introduction to basic four-stroke engine operation. Topics include: Lawn Equipment safety, four-stroke gasoline and diesel engine fundamentals, electrical systems, governor systems, fuel systems, engine cooling systems, and precision measuring.
LEQR 1100—General Lawnmower Repair
Introduces general equipment maintenance, electrical systems, bearings, clutches, hydrostatic transmission theory and diagnosis, and steering system diagnosis and repair.
LEQR 1150—Two-Cycle Engine Equipment Repair
Introduces two-stroke engine operation. Topics include: Lawn Equipment two-stroke engine fundamentals, ignition systems, governor systems, fuel systems, general maintenance, and technical information. |
